This four-star designation signals recognizes our commitment to providing care that recognizes veterans and their families’ distinctive needs through serious illness, end of life, grief, and/or post-traumatic stress.

Serving 500+ Veterans

During her visit, the mid adult home health nurse and the senior adult woman with cancer embrace and laugh together.

Samaritan serves more than 500 veterans through our hospice program each year. In fact, one in every six of Samaritan’s hospice patients has served in the military. Where veterans served, when they served, what they experienced then, and what they are feeling now, can all greatly influence their physical, psychological, and spiritual comfort at the end of life. That’s why we include a veteran’s military history into their medical history and care options.

Special Recognition Blanket

Our goal is to provide each veteran patient in our care with a special blanket. Uniquely designed to recognize their service, this blanket will be a warm expression of our gratitude for their selfless sacrifice for the common good. This blanket, proudly displayed at bedside, will signal to for all who enter, “You are in the presence of an American hero.”
