Names Dr. John Bertagnolli New Chief Medical Officer

As Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Bertagnolli will take over all responsibilities of the Executive Leadership position, along with leading Samaritan’s medical teams and the Boccolini Institute, supporting referral partnerships, and overseeing all of the organization’s clinical healthcare services, including the delivery of care to more than 13,000 patients, clients, and their families each year.
Dr. Bertagnolli is board certified in family medicine by the American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians and a member of the American Osteopathic Association, the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians, and the New Jersey Association of Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons. In 2013, he earned a Certificate of Added Qualifications (CAQ) in Hospice & Palliative Medicine to further his specialized expertise in the field. Prior to joining Samaritan, Dr. Bertagnolli’s distinguished career included extensive experience in family medicine and hospice care, in addition to teaching and mentoring medical students at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ) School of Osteopathic Medicine’s Department of Family Medicine.
Dr. Bertagnolli received his medical degree from UMDNJ’s School of Osteopathic Medicine in Stratford, NJ, and his undergraduate degree from Rutgers University in Camden, NJ. Over the years, he has been the recipient of many top honors and awards for his work, notably named a SJ Magazine Top Doc and a frequent choice for Top Physician in South Jersey Magazine. He is also a published author, researcher, and community and international volunteer.
