Joint Commission accreditation is the objective evaluation process that helps health care organizations measure, assess, and improve performance in order to provide safe, high-quality care for their patients.

Samaritan is an American Heart Association Palliative/Hospice Heart Failure certified provider, the first New Jersey based hospice to receive this distinction.
This certification signifies that Samaritan’s heart failure program uses:

The Center for Medicare & Medicaid Services five-star rating system is based on quality measures by surveys completed by caregivers who have received care.
Samaritan is proud to hold a four-star rating from our caregiver surveys.
The Mary Ann Bocclini Institute at Samaritan is a Joint accredited education provider for healthcare. The accrediting bodies accredits institutions that promote collaboration, teamwork, and interprofessional continuing education for health professionals. Samaritan became the first hospice organization in the United States to receive this accreditation in 2024.

As a Not-For Profit organization, we are honored to have community support to help power the life-enhancing care we provide for our patients and families in South Jersey. Samaritan received Guidestar/Candid’s 2026 Platinum Seal of Transparency.

In 2025, Samaritan’s Boccolini Institute and Social Connections program received the Pioneering Innovation in Hospice & Palliative Care Award from NorthStar Care Community.
The award recognized the social connections initiatives to reduce social isolation and loneliness as well as the Boccolini Institute’s Joint accreditation which we are utilizing to provide innovative interdisciplinary education for healthcare professionals.

Samaritan has been a member of the South Jersey community for 45 years and counting. It is our privilege to serve our community and be recognized for community impact. We are humbled and grateful to have received proclamations from our local officials in recognition of the positive impact Samaritan has had on our community.
Samaritan received the 2026 Robyn J. Blanchard RN Healthcare of the Year Award from Arc Gloucester in honor of our partnership to provide compassionate care for individuals living with disabilities and their families.

Samaritan’s Thrift Store, which receives donations from the community with proceeds going to support care at Samaritan, was honored to receive the Community Impact award in 2025 from South Jersey Biz.
