“I knew exactly how I would end my life,” Joyce shared frankly. After the loss of her husband, she experienced loneliness and sadness exacerbated by ongoing medical issues. Creating a perfect storm that brought her to a low point where she was ready and planning to take her life.

As Doris Wooster's care needs advanced Samaritan's team was there to support. “Until you personally witness all they do, you just can’t appreciate their care and be thankful for that,” Lee shared.

When Luke DeFilippo came to Samaritan #hospice care two years ago his mom Laura, and full-time caregiver, welcomed the team with open arms. In that time, her husband was diagnosed with early-onset dementia which has only increased her appreciation for Samaritan’s support. “I don’t know if you know the specialness you have in our hearts, but it’s going to be there forever.”
