Mount Laurel, NJ – On June 28, Samaritan held their 31st annual golf tournament, “Drive FORE! A Good Cause.” A total of 176 golfers participated in this year’s event, held at Little Mill Country Club in Marlton, which raised funds and awareness for Samaritan’s not-for-profit services and 40+ years of service to the community.
The tournament, presented by The Richardson Family Dealerships, raised more than $178,000 to support Samaritan’s family of services, which enhance the lives of those coping with issues of aging, serious illness, or grief, and all those who care about them throughout South Jersey.
“Samaritan continues to be a regional leader for hospice, palliative, primary care at home, and grief support services,” explains Mary Ann Boccolini, former president and CEO of Samaritan. “As a locally-based, not-for-profit organization, we rely in the generosity of donors – like the sponsors and golfers at our tournament – to support our mission and enable us to provide above and beyond, life-enhancing services to those who live in Mercer, Burlington, Camden, Gloucester and Atlantic counties.”
The golf tournament is one of two fundraising events that support the not-for-profit healthcare provider. The second is a gala, held each February. Both events in combination with donations from individuals and organizations support essential healthcare services for the residents of South Jersey that are either un- or under-reimbursed by insurance.
