Hospice Medical Equipment – What Does Hospice Provide?

When you choose hospice care, you get a team of experts to help you and your loved one through serious illness and end of life, and you also receive the necessary hospice medical equipment and supplies to aid in providing care at home.

With your family’s comfort and dignity in mind, Samaritan took the utmost care in choosing hospice equipment vendors and medical suppliers that would provide you and your loved one excellent service.

When you officially begin receiving hospice care at home, the hospice nurse will assess your need for hospice equipment and supplies. The nurse will also arrange for delivery of these items to your home.

All hospice medical equipment will be delivered and set up by our highly-trained durable medical equipment vendor. Additional supplies will be delivered by a member of the hospice team or a medical supply company working with Samaritan.

You and your loved ones will be educated about the safety and effective use of the medical equipment by the equipment company and it will be reinforced by your hospice nurse. Education will include the basic purpose, operating instructions – including what to do if you have a problem, and safety precautions.

When the medical equipment is no longer needed, your hospice nurse will arrange for its return and pick up by the supply company.
