All proceeds raised from the event will support the not-for-profit’s comprehensive family of services that benefit seriously ill patients and their families, as well as those grieving a loss, across the southern and central New Jersey region.

Mount Laurel, NJSamaritan held its annual Celebration of Life Gala, presented by Holman Enterprises, virtually on Saturday, February 12. The Gala, entitled Above and Beyond, raised more than $151,000 in charitable support for the not-for-profit’s comprehensive family of services that benefit seriously ill patients and their families, as well as those grieving a loss.

“The proceeds from this year’s Gala helps our organization continue to provide quality, compassionate care to more than 11,000 families annually throughout Atlantic, Burlington, Camden, Gloucester and Mercer counties,” said Mary Ann Boccolini, president and chief executive officer of Samaritan. “We are incredibly grateful for the expert guidance and passionate leadership of Gala Committee Chair Jamie Bratton, as well as the dedication of all members of our volunteer Gala committee. A huge thank you to all of our sponsors, advertisers, auction donors and attendees – your support helped to make our 2022 virtual Gala a success!”

During the 2022 virtual Gala, Samaritan announced their 2022 Circle of Excellence award recipients – the 500 Samaritan volunteers who go above and beyond each day to support the organizations and its patients. Presented on an annual basis, the Circle of Excellence award recognizes individuals and organizations who are passionate and dedicated in their service to Samaritan as an organization, as well as the South Jersey community.

“Each one of our extraordinary volunteers are advocates and champions of our mission – selflessly giving their time and individual expertise all for the benefit of our patients and their families,” continued Boccolini. “Our volunteers are a critical part of ensuring that we provide quality support and compassionate care to all those in need.”

Additionally, local residents James Cezo of Voorhees and Valerie Sweet of Shamong were drawn as the 2022 winners of the organization’s annual Delightful Dining Raffle – with each winner awarded twelve $100 dining gift certificates, valued at a total of $1,200, to some of the area’s finest restaurants.

This year’s Gala can be viewed in its entirety online on Samaritan’s YouTube page.
